Daily brief (5/9): Top picks from the Springfield media

The morning clouds will clear by this afternoon, giving us another taste of summer for a day. High will be 87.

Tomorrow will be another hot, sunny day, with a high approaching 90. Rain chances enter the forecast Wednesday, which will be another unseasonably hot day. Temperatures should cool back down to normal highs in the 70s by this weekend, though.

Today is also Truman Day in Missouri, to honor President Harry S Truman, the only president from the Show-Me State. Several government offices, including all Greene County offices, will be closed today.
