Another breezy and warm day is expect on Thursday as the front moves through the plains.

A very cool airmass will then settle into the area for a few days. Expect lingering light rain showers on Friday and Saturday of this week with high temperatures not escaping the 50s.
- New-Leader:Vandivort to become hotel in Springfield. The building at 305 East Walnut has been a Masonic Lodge, a theater and now plans are in the works to transform the building into a hotel. Current tenants, like the Springfield Contemporary Theatre, plan to relocate to other downtown locations. The McQuearys and theater staff, according to a news release, are working to find another venue while maintaining this year’s production schedule. (Other coverage: KY3)
- [Election]OzarksFirst: Missouri State to host debate watch event tonight. The communications department at Missouri State University will hold a Debate Watch at the Gillioz Theatre on Park Central East. The viewing of the debate is free and open to anyone. - KSPR: Drury University to observe Banned Book Week with reading at library. The American Library Association started Banned Book Week 30 years ago, and students and faculty at Springfield’s Drury University are honoring that tradition today. Students and faculty from Drury will be reading selections from banned books on the steps of the university library between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. today. The readings are free, and anyone is welcome to show up and listen. (Other coverage: KY3)
