Skies should clear by tomorrow, and the high is expected to hit 86. It will be sunny and hot through the weekend, with highs topping the 90-degree mark.

  • News-Leader: MSU athletic programs in good athletic standing. The NCAA released its latest Academic Progress Report, and Missouri State University’s 16 athletic programs were all listed in good standing.
  • KY3: Marshfield student takes top spot in speech nationals. Bailey Norton, a Marshfield High School students who competes in humorous interpretation, took the top spot in the finals of the National Forensic League competition in Indianapolis.
  • KSMU: Springfield sewage rates increase. Next month, sewage rates for Springfield residents will rise to help pay for $50 million in sewer improvements. The rate increases will depend upon how much water individual households use.
