Daily brief (5/27): Top picks from the Springfield media

Today will be sunny and hot, with a high of 92.

A strong breeze with gusts of up to 24 mph will help some, and rain chances moves into the forecast for the Memorial Day holiday. Several veterans cemeteries are preparing for remembrance ceremonies on Monday.

A 30 percent of showers and thunderstorms will last through Tuesday. Tomorrow’s high will be 88.

A gradual cooling trend is in store for the rest of the week, with rain chances on Wednesday and Thursday. Highs should return to the 70s by Thursday.
