  • KY3: Springfield unemployment rate dips below 7 percent. The unemployment rate for the Springfield metropolitan area dropped to 6.7 percent for November, down from 7.2 percent in October and 8.5 percent a year ago.
  • News-Leader: CU board picks water-tower site. The City Utilities board ignored the recommendation of its own committee and approved a new $3.25 million water water for a less populated site north of U.S. 60. (Other coverage: OzarksFirst)
  • KSMU: Council approves plan for filling Ibarra’s seat. The Springfield City Council will begin taking applications to fill the seat vacated by this week’s resignation of Nick Ibarra, who was charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon.
  • KSPR: Gov. Bobby Jindal to headline Missouri Republican conference. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal will be the headline speaker at the Missouri Republican Party’s Lincoln Days event on Feb. 17 in Kansas City.
