There will be a 50 percent chance of showers throughout today, and it will increase to 90 percent tonight. The temperature will dip into the 40s as storms move through the area. Winds will be brisk, with gusts of up to 22 mph.
Showers should end by tomorrow, with skies clearing and much cooler temperatures. Highs will be in the 50s through Thursday.
- KY3: Apartment fire caused by careless smoking. Fire crews evacuated the Golden Pond Apartments (4120 S. Hillcrest Ave.) after a fire started Sunday morning, apparently because of a tenant who had been smoking on a balcony and left. There were no injuries, although one person was treated for chest pains caused by stress. (Other coverage: KSPR, News-Leader, OzarksFirst)
- News-Leader: Grant will help inmates with mental illness. With the help of a $200,000 federal grant, a new Greene County program hopes to provide treatment rather than jail time for those with serious mental illnesses. (Part of a special report)
- OzarksFirst: Animal Control, local group hope to slow feral-cat crisis. Greene County Animal Control takes in 2,000 feral cats and kittens a year. About 75 percent are euthanized. But the agency is working with SAAFHouse to distribute information about the problem to neighborhoods that have the largest feral-cat populations.
- KSPR: New medical center to open in Bolivar. Citizens Memorial Healthcare is opening a new primary-care medical center in Bolivar called the Southside Medical Center (1120 S. Springfield Ave.)
