  • KSPR: Nixa, Ozark collect 41,000 pounds of food. As part of the annual Nixa/Ozark football game, both towns collect food to benefit Least of These, the Christian County food pantry. This year, about 41,000 pounds of food was collected.
  • OzarksFirst: Students protest removal of Newburg principal. Newburg high school principal Steve Guffey was placed on administrative leave this week, and a group of 90 students gathered to support the principal. The district won’t say why the principal was placed on leave, saying it is a personnel matter.
  • KY3: Lower crime rate attributed to community policing. Springfield police say the number of reported crimes has dropped, and the department credits its new community-policing effort for the improvement.
  • News-Leader: Six charged after gang-related beating. Six Springfield men are accused of beating another who tried to leave their gang in September. Second-degree assault charges have been filed against Raymond King, Brandon King, Jerry Watson, John Lawson, Kevin Robb and Justin Agee.
