It will drop into the high 40s again tonight, but tomorrow will be another nice day, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 70 expected. Sunday will be partly sunny, with a high of 68.

  • News-Leader: Bus-transfer site put on hold. One property being considered by City Utilities for a bus-transfer site near Missouri State University is no longer available, putting plans for a new station on hold. (Other coverage: OzarksFirst, KSPR, KY3)
  • OzarksFirst: EEOC files lawsuit alleging discrimination in Prime Trucking’s hiring. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a suit against New Prime Inc., saying the Springfield trucking firm’s hiring practices discriminate against women.   • OzarksFirst: Free dental event expected to be state’s largest. Missouri Mission of Mercy is presenting a free makeshift dental clinic in Springfield this weekend at the E-Plex. The volunteers expect to treat about 2,000 people.
  • News-Leader: Meth ‘not going away,’ police say. Springfield police recently discovered one of the largest meth labs officers have seen in a while in west Springfield. Meth busts are up for the year, marking the second year of increases after a low of 37 lab busts in 2009.
  • KY3: Springfield police put brakes on scooter ride service. Joe’s Your Way Home uses foldable scooters to pick up bar patrons who have been drinking, but police say the scooters aren’t suitable for road use.
  • KSMU: Joplin Recovery Fund helps city heal. The Joplin Recovery Fund administered by the Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri (an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks), has awarded $300,000 in grants to the community.
