Happy Labor Day! Today will be sunny and mild, with a high of 72.

The weather should be nice to today’s Labor Day parade, scheduled for 10 a.m. in Springfield. The parade will start on Hammons Parkway north of Grand Avenue on the Missouri State University campus and end at Fassnight Park.

A north wind with gusts of close to 30 mph will keep things cool today. Tonight will be clear and cold, with the low dropping into the 40s.

Tomorrow will be another clear, mild day, with a high of 74.

  • KY3: Troopers remind boaters to take extra precautions this weekend. Labor Day is typically one of the busiest days on area lakes.
  • OzarksFirst: Ozarkers pledge more than $700,000 to MDA. Ozarkers contributed $701,501 during this weekend‘s Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon. It’s the 46th year of the national telethon to raise money to fight the disease.
  • KSPR: Street resurfacing scheduled for downtown Branson. Crews will be working on several roads in downtown Branson during the next week, which will affect traffic in the area.
  • News-Leader: Mayor predicts passage of E-Verify proposal. Mayor Jim O’Neal expects the ordinance proposed by the Ozarks Minutemen to be approved but revised quickly. The ordinance would require employers to check all employees with the federal government’s E-Verify system.
