Daily brief (8/15): Top picks from the Springfield media

Skies will be clear and sunny as some Ozarks students return to the clasroom today.

Another mild August day is in store, with a high of 86 expected. A light breeze of 5-8 mph will help as well.

A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms moves into the forecast tonight, with a low of 65 expected. Tomorrow will be mostly sunny, with a high of 90. Slight rain chances remain throughout the day.

Highs are expected to return to standard August territory by week’s end, with temperatures staying in the 90s.
