Another scorcher is in store for today, with a high of 100 expected. The heat index will push it to 103.

A south wind will help a little, with gusts of up to 23 mph. But a heat advisory remains in effect for most of the Ozarks. Tomorrow will be more of the same; the first rain chances don’t enter the forecast until Friday.

  • OzarksFirst: Thirteen Ozarks post offices could close. To deal with a $4 billion loss, the Postal Service is considering closing up to 3,600 offices around the country, including 13 in the Ozarks. (Other coverage: News-Leader, KY3)
  • News-Leader: Policy on movies next for Republic schools. After banning two books from its school curriculum and libraries, the Republic School District is now looking at removing R-rated movies from the classroom.
