Today, there’s a 30 percent chance of showers. The high will be 60. The clouds will remain tonight, but the temperatures will stay above 50 through tomorrow. A high of 70 is expected on Sunday, with wind gusts of up to 33 mph.

  • KY3: KY3, KSPR, OzarksCW get new general manager. Brian McDonough, sales manager of KWCH-TV in Wichita, Kan., will take over from Mike Scott, who is retiring after almost 15 years as general manager of KY3 Inc. Schurz Communications of South Bend, Ind., owns the Wichita station and KY3. The KY3 general manager is also responsible for overseeing KSPR and the Ozarks CW. (Other coverage: News-Leader, KSPR)
  • News-Leader: Forum to present pros, cons of smoking ban. The Greene County Medical Society is hosting a public forum on March 15 at Ozarks Technical Community College to discuss a proposed smoking ban for Springfield.

  • KSMU: Area lakes benefit from water-quality grant. Lake Taneycomo and Table Rock Lake will benefit from a $500,000 water-quality grant from the state.
