Daily brief (2/14): Top picks from the Springfield media

SunnyIt will be a bright and sunny Valentine’s Day in the Ozarks.

Today will be clear with a high of 54. Tomorrow will be much of the same, although a slight chance of drizzle moves into the forecast. Temperatures are likely to top the 60-degree mark by week’s end.

Today’s picks:

  • KY3: Battling methamphetamine in the Ozarks. The deadly drug remains a problem in the state, with Missouri still leading the nation in meth busts.
  • News-Leader: Clinic reaches out to region. Springfield’s SAAFhouse Spay and Neuter, which has spayed and neutered nearly 1,500 animals, is reaching out to offer surgeries for animals from Branson.
  • OzarksFirst [KOLR/KSFX]: Antique dealers say market is good for high-end pieces. Several dealers came to the area this weekend for the Antique Festival of the Ozarks.
  • Springfield Business Journal: Airport director takes Colorado job. Gary Cyr, the director of the Springfield-Branson National Airport, will retire April 1 to take over a job at an airport in Greeley, Colo.
