  • News-Leader: Public to have more say in CU general manager search process. During a special CU board meeting Wednesday, the board unanimously approved the process it will use to choose a replacement for retiring General Manager John Twitty. The board indicated it wants input from the public about the search and qualities, attributes and goals the next general manager should have.
  • News-Leader: Rep. Billy Long doesn’t plan to shy away from events after shooting. Rep. Billy Long said Tuesday that he doesn’t plan to shy away from district events in Springfield, despite the shooting of an Arizona congresswoman over the weekend.
  • KY3: Springfield School District will cut central office personnel. Superintendent Norm Ridder will announce a restructuring of the Springfield School District’s central office next Tuesday.   Ridder hopes to reduce the district’s administrative costs in the face of predicted declines in state education appropriations.
  • KY3: Police plan seeks to “beat” more crime in Springfield. More businesses and residents are calling Springfield center-city “home” these days. But many folks say parts of downtown have a ways to go when it comes to cleaning up crime. To respond, a police plan re-draws patrol beats to place more officers in higher-crime areas.
