  • News-Leader: Council tables smoking and alcohol bans. It will be up to voters to decide whether to prohibit smoking in enclosed public places in Springfield and whether some movie theaters will be barred from selling alcohol, members of the Springfield City Council decided Monday night.   • KSPR: City designated 7 acres of central Springfield “blighted.” At Monday’s council meeting, council passed an ordinance designating 7 acres of central Springfield as blighted. Two developers requested the blight so they could apply for property tax abatements. (Also News-Leader)
  • KY3: Cancellation policy for Springfield public schools explained. Dozens of schools in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas will close this week because of snow.
