Daily brief (11/26): Top picks from the Springfield media

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The clouds will dissipate today, leaving a sunny but cold day. The temperature is expected to hit 45 before dropping to 26 tonight.

More than 7,100 people ran in the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5K, an event that raises money for the Developmental Center of the Ozarks and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board Scholarship Fund. Food is also collected for Ozarks Food Harvest. The park board has posted the results for all runners.

Today’s picks:

  • KY3: Shopper brave long lines for Black Friday sales. Some people started lining up Wednesday to grab Friday morning deals.
  • KSPR: Flasher targeting bus stops in Greene, Christian counties. Investigators are looking for a man who is flashing children at bus stops around the Greene-Christian County line. Anyone with information about the man should call the sheriff’s office at 417-868-4040. The man is described as a white male between 30-50 years old, driving a newer black SUV.  Some of the students say he had a thin mustache and goatee.
  • News-Leader: How to be a better you (Column): Columnist Juliana Goodwin provides a good-natured guide of how to give a little something back.
