Today’s picks:

  • News-Leader: Three square off in 7th District debate. Libertarian Kevin Craig, Democrat Scott Eckersley, and Republican Billy Long debated in Joplin last night, covering a host of issues. (Additional coverage: Joplin Globe, KSN-16 [Joplin], KY3 live blog, OzarksFirst [KOLR/KSFX]). There will be another debate at 7 tonight on KOLR.
  • KSMU: Ozarks New Energy conference today, Friday. The conference, at the Plaster Student Union Theater on the Missouri State University campus, will highlight alternative energy resources. More information is available from OzarksNewEnergy.org.
  • KY3: Cattle rancher from Clever faces new charges. A Clever man accused of stealing cattle was indicted by a grand jury and charged with wire fraud.
  • KSPR: Springfield Meth Map: New tool outlines meth labs. About 55 percent of meth-making materials were found in open areas, according to the Springfield Police Department.
