Morning brief (9/1): Top picks from the Springfield media

White rabbits! (My parents always used to say that at the beginning of each month for luck.)

Today’s picks:

  • KSPR: Industrial employment down in Missouri, up in Springfield.
  • OzarksFirst (KOLR/KSFX): Group forms to support grieving daughters. Daughters Without Mothers is a new group dedicated to helping those who’ve lost their mothers.
  • News-Leader: Real-estate tax issue to be on Missouri ballot. The proposed initiative, which would bar real-estate transfer taxes, will appear on the November ballot.
  • KY3: Cheerleader seriously injured in Kickapoo High school celebration. Senior Megan Taylor is recovering from serious injuries from Kickapoo’s annual “How Night” celebration.
